Let's face it, cooking is not the highest priority in the life of every man, woman or child on this planet. In fact, many people have given up on learning to cook, which is important in their lives. That means we often turn to canned snacks and mixes instead of bothering to make healthy meals for our families and personal tastes.
This means that at every point in your cooking cycle, there is someone cooking better and/or worse than you. Pay attention to this, because even the most efficient have bad days cooking. There are several people who cook according to different factors. Some cook to eat and survive, while others cook because they love to eat. Some cook out of emotional turmoil, others out of boredom. No matter what you cook and no matter how you cook, you should always start with the basics.
Another great cooking tip is to try simpler recipes for a while and then broaden your horizons to more complex and richer recipes. Most recipes have a little note on the difficulty level and you can read the recipe to see if you're really interested in making it or if you're sure you can do it. Keep in mind that Rome was not built in one day and it will take a relatively long time to build a solid recipe collection for your kitchen.
